Foaled in 2001 and standing at just 1m60, this big-hearted mare is the third generation of the Stapleton breeding programme, and proves just how far we have come. Starting out with the Irish mare Pacifica, competed by John’s daughter Vanessa, put to Carnival Drum to produce Atlanta II who is now one of the key brood mares at Stapleton Stud.
Stapleton Mist
One of the first horses to be named with the ‘Stapleton’ prefix, Stapleton Mist was purchased as a seven year old in 2009. John patiently produced this Oldenburg gelding, taking him up to Grade B at which point Peter Charles took over the ride. Still being developed carefully, Stapleton Mist has now competed across Europe and is showing tremendous potential.
